✦ MYTHOSCOPE

Terms of Service

Updated June 2026·~6 min read

Mythoscope is a psychological instrument, not a contract factory — but a few things need saying plainly so we both know where we stand. Here they are, in human language first and full terms beneath. By using Mythoscope, you agree to them.

1. Acceptance of these terms

In plain languageUsing Mythoscope means you accept these terms. You must be 18 or older.

By creating an account or using Mythoscope (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service. You must be at least 18 years old to use Mythoscope. The Service is operated by Mythoscope LLC (“Mythoscope,” “we,” “us”), governed by the laws of the State of New Mexico, USA.

2. Your account & beta access

In plain languageMythoscope is in beta and invite-based. We sign you in with a magic link — no passwords. Keep your access to your email secure; that's your key.

Access is currently limited and may require an invitation or friend code. We authenticate you by emailing a one-time “magic link” — we do not store passwords. You're responsible for the security of the email account tied to your Mythoscope login and for activity under your account. Because Mythoscope is in beta, features, methodology, and availability may change, pause, or end at any time, and access may be granted, limited, or revoked at our discretion.

3. Your content & Polarities

In plain languageYour loves, hates, dreams, and the readings they produce are yours. You grant us only the permission we need to run the instrument for you.

“Polarities” are the cultural loves, hates, dreams, and other inputs you provide; “Readings” are the outputs Mythoscope generates from them. As between you and us, your Polarities and Readings belong to you. You grant Mythoscope a limited license to store, process, and display your content solely to operate the Service for you — including sending your Polarities to our reading-generation provider to create your Reading (see Privacy Policy §8). We claim no ownership of your personal inputs.

4. Sharing & consent

In plain languageNothing of yours is shared publicly unless you opt in, reading by reading. Comparing souls with someone takes both of you saying yes, and either of you can pull it back anytime.

Your Polarities and Readings are private by default and are never published publicly without your explicit, per-reading opt-in. Within the Service, your connections may view your Polarities and request a Compare by default — see Privacy Policy §4. Two specific protections:

  • Publication sharing is opt-in and granular. Opting in only unlocks the ability to mark individual readings as shareable; you approve the anonymized descriptor before anything appears, and you can withdraw any shared reading immediately, for any reason, with no penalty.
  • Compare Souls requires both parties' consent. A shared Compare cannot be published to a Garden unless both people consent; neither party can publish unilaterally, and either party can revoke at any time, which removes it.

5. Lumens & credits

In plain languageLumens are in-app credits for generating readings. They aren't money, can't be cashed out, and may be adjusted while we're in beta.

“Lumens” are a virtual, in-app credit used to generate readings and access features. Lumens have no cash value, are not transferable or redeemable for money, and are not a stored-value or payment instrument. During beta we may grant, adjust, expire, or reset Lumens balances as we tune the economy. Lumens are not refundable except where required by law.

6. Acceptable use

In plain languageBe a decent human. Don't break the instrument, abuse other people, or try to steal how it works.

You agree not to: (a) reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to extract the Mythoscope methodology, prompts, or models; (b) use the Service to harass, harm, or impersonate others, or to upload unlawful content; (c) probe, disrupt, or circumvent security, rate limits, or access controls; (d) use automated means to access the Service except as we expressly permit; or (e) use the Service in violation of any applicable law. We may suspend or terminate access for violations.

7. Intellectual property

In plain languageThe Mythoscope name, design, writing, and the methodology behind your readings are ours. Your reading is yours; the instrument that made it is not.

Mythoscope — including the “Mythoscope” name and marks, the Codex and Lumens systems, the website, design, copy, and the underlying methodology (prompt design, paradox mapping, scoring, and reveal logic) — is owned by Mythoscope LLC and protected by intellectual-property and trade-secret law. These Terms grant you no rights in them beyond using the Service as intended. Your individual Polarities and Readings remain yours under §3.

8. Disclaimers & limitation of liability

In plain languageMythoscope is for insight and delight — it is not therapy, diagnosis, or medical or psychological advice. It's offered “as is,” and our liability is limited.

Not clinical advice. Mythoscope is a psychological-mapping instrument for self-reflection, insight, and entertainment. It is not therapy, counseling, diagnosis, or medical, psychological, or professional advice, and must not be relied on as such. If you are in distress or crisis, please contact a qualified professional or local emergency services.

Beta & “as is.” The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including the accuracy of AI-generated content.

Limitation of liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mythoscope will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or US $100 if you paid nothing.

Force majeure. We're not liable for failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including third-party API or infrastructure outages.

Disputes. Disputes will be resolved by binding arbitration in New Mexico, with a small-claims-court exception; you may opt out within 30 days of acceptance.

9. Changes to these terms

In plain languageWe may update these terms; if we make material changes we'll say so, and using Mythoscope after that means you accept them.

We may revise these Terms from time to time. For material changes we'll provide reasonable notice (for example, by email or an in-app notice). Changes take effect when posted with an updated date; continued use after that constitutes acceptance.
